Watch the I-70 series for Khalil Greene sightings.
By the time this article was written, the was already one game into this series was played. And Khalil Greene definitely said one thing: HE IS BACK. While coming off the DL and switching to third base, he went 2-2 with a solo homerun. And the other hit was a long double. But otherwise, just watch this series for these things:
- Another big series from Yadi (already 2-5 with a double)
- A quality start from Chris Carpenter to rebound from the Cleveland game.
- An epic pitchers duel on Sunday between Wainwright and Meche.
- and a Cardinals sweep.
Pitchers duel ends with Indians win.
If you didn’t watch the Cardinals-Indians game last night on ESPN, you didn’t miss much….. unless you are a baseball purist or an Indians fan.
Basically, the Cardinals bats just didn’t come alive, and aside from the two homeruns, neither did the Indians. The uber-utility player Mark DeRosa hit a homerun in the first inning after Chris Carpenter walked the leadoff hitter. Later in the inning, 3B Jhonny Peralta tripled whenever rookie Colby Rasmus mis-played a sinking liner to right-center, but that didn’t end up doing much damage.
Meanwhile, Cliff Lee was pitching splendidly. In the first inning, he walked Pujols and Ryan, but that didn’t end up doing much damage as he struck out Ankiel, got Ludwick to fly out to right, and sat down Nick Stavinoha. After that he settled in even more, located his pitches better, changing the hitters’ eye levels, and striking out six. But most importantly, he took a no-hit bid into the eighth inning.
However, it ended whenever Molina doubled off the right field wall. I believe the Cardinals finished with just three hits, no runs, and Ankiel had three strikeouts. OUCH!
By this point, Kelly Shoppach had also homered, so the final score was Indians 3, Cardinals 0. Cliff Lee finished with a shutout, and Chris Carpenter recorded his first loss of the season.
This next week, the Cardinals head back to St. Louis as they face the Tigers and Justin Verlander in a three game series. This is followed by another I-70 series at Kansas City over the weekend.

The Tennessee Blog: A New Start
The Devil Rays became the Rays, the Brooklyn Dodgers moved to Los Angeles, and Brett Favre came back after retirement two (possibly three) times, so why can’t sports blogs delete all previous entries, and get a fresh new start? So thats what we did. Here’s a list of changes:
– New logo, which is a Tennessee flag with a baseball in the middle.
– We changed from having a MLB format to a Cardinals format.
– New blog information
– We will now officially start blogging about the two teams we know best (the Cardinals and Braves) instead of writing about any MLB topic.
So, if you wanna be updated on any STL Cardinals or ATL Braves topic, transaction, so on… subscribe to this blog!!
